The Drummer & Founder

Robbie Rodriguez is the engine of RUAA; he is the drummer and the director behind the band’s films. A USMC veteran who left the Marines to chase his dream as an on-air radio personality on 93.3 WFLS, 99.3 WYSK, and Thunder 104.5 in Virginia. He has been involved in the music industry for over 30 years, including writing for two industry magazines and as an artist manager. He is CEO of Canales Music Management Group, LLC, which also owns Trinity Cymbals, a boutique drum cymbal company.

“I fell into drumming at an early age back in the Bronx at the age of 16. I took lessons from Grammy & Latin Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria in New York. Since then, I’ve supported multiple artists and genres on multiple stages throughout the years. I enjoy playing all genres of music.”

Robbie plays bass guitar, produces, arranges, composes, and writes all lyrics to bring RUAA to life. He has been working on this project for over eight years; he also loves being behind the kit, assisting with other projects. He has toured as the drum technician for Drummer Dave Chavarri, founder of ILL Nino, and the horror metal band Terror Universal. He has also toured and played drums in Nashville and Virginia, playing gigs opening for country artists like Radio Romance, Ashley McBryde, and The Davidson Brothers. He has toured up north in New York with Freestyle artist Tonasia; in Baltimore, he worked with dance artist Eva Jade London for Noise In the Basement 98 Rock & a live performance on Ocean 98.1 FM in Ocean City, Maryland.

2026: He is currently hiring musicians to assist with studio and production. We’re working to secure the core musicians to head out next year in 2027 for some touring dates moving forward. We’d like to thank our personal assistant, Pip, who has been instrumental behind the scenes. Robbie would like to thank his spouse, Lynn Rodriguez, who is also his business partner, and show tech for her support.

Robbie is also a published author. His ebook, Unlocking Your Marketing Potential: The Science Behind Music Endorsements — The Guide, written as Robert Rodriguez, is available on Amazon — a step-by-step process for partnering with great brands and growing together in business.

His road here was anything but straight. He holds a bachelor's in applied science in Administration of Justice from George Mason University and an associate in applied science from Northern Virginia Community College, and he completed his first year at Concord School of Law before walking away to chase music. His radio years also took him to 96.9 WWUZ, to BlogTalkRadio as Program Director of The Temple of Rock, and to his own online station, RockRadio993. He and his wife, Lynn, are parents to four adults and make their home in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
